I received the below Thomas Jefferson quote in an e-mail recently:
"If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as the souls who live under tyranny."
Thomas Jefferson (1778)
It is my opinion that if we don't take matters into our own hands, the label of "sick men and women of the Americas" will be apropos.
By taking matters into our own hands I mean: we grow our own food, have our own milk cows, etc., or we will be made ill by the processed food manufacturers.
The cattle ranchers, as a business, need to return to an existence where they raise cattle without the tampering by way of cloning and the cutting of corners to make more money, such as by using growth hormones and antibiotics. They need to grow the animals in a healthy way in a healthy environment. Just let a sick cow get well using its own systems in a healthy environment!
What happened to the free market?

Yes, that one *is* important. It seems our founding fathers warned against many things that, sadly, we see have happened in our own times.

Unfortunately our founding fathers knew well what power can do. Our government is run by the lobbyists and money not the people. We the people need to make our voices heard.

I very much agree with you, Eve. Unfortunately, it seems some folks tried to make their voices heard recently with regard to their views on healthcare, and were treated dismissively by the government.
But the more noise we make, the better.
