Hi Lorraine. You could always start your own petition and promote it; I don't know what kind of support you would get. What are you looking for?

Pls. I would like to have a petition done up and go as far as i can to have the fluoride removed. CAn u tell me what kind of support i would get. A movement, a revolution is what is needed. Can we keep in touch and get this going? I have a bunch of people that want to take this far. I also just found out the relations between Prozac and Fluoride. You don't need to go to the dr. anymore (not that i would) to get your prescription, just drink the water. (eat your veggies that are grown with that water) this is discusting

I know what you mean about fluoridation; I got kind of ill the last time my dentist insisted on using it. Enough of that!

I haven't tried swishing oils for cleanliness of the mouth. I wonder if the mouth then feels ... oily? But dissolving plaque is a good thing --- however, the glycerine and baking soda, individually, sound interesting.

And welcome to We Want Organic Food!

I am now giving up any fluoridation treatments recommended (pushed) by my periodontist and dentist. I am using glycerin, baking soda, and OTC peroxide for dental treatments at home. I will be seeking out and using food-grade 35% peroxide which I will dilute at home to the safe 3% grade. I am on well water, and will use distilled water for any ingested diluted peroxide. I am in my forties, and I see no benefits from fluoride.

Also, I have looked into what is called oil pulling which consists of swishing good oils (sesame, olive, canola, many others) in your mouth for at least three minutes, supposed to pull outbad things. What the oils do is dissolve much of the plaque/smother bad bacteria in your mouth. Pulls nothing out. However, you are a getting a great healthy dose of essential fatty acids by doing this. Swish for a few minutes, don't swallow, and spit it out.

I am keeping an eye on my skin tone, and have recently begun brushing w/glycerin and baking soda, one after the other. My mouth stays CLEAN, where as before I would have crusty teeth after about three hours (I like acidic drinks and sweets). And, I don't believe that teeth can re-enamelize, that's just to sell certain types of Sensitive Teeth toothpaste.

Thanks, Lynn. You're right, of course.

Here in Los Angeles, you can smell the chlorine in the water. Unfortunately, the situation is not that we can't easily filter our drinking water, but that it's a bit more problematic with the tap water unless you're willing to invest.

I'd like to add my two cents' worth here. Don't forget that chlorine also added to sterilize water is toxic as well. Even though, as a gas it is meant to evaporate into harmlessness, when taking a hot bath or shower or hot tub in steamy chlorinated water, it's evaporating right into your body and equal to drinking 8-10 glasses of water treated with the toxin. Lemon essential oil as well as many other EOs and even plain distilled vinegar do a good job at sanitizing making the use of this poison solely a position for economic gain.

I agree. I think it's quite ridiculous to surmise that, if a substance (in this case, fluoride) might be good for a specific reason, then we should not only drink it but bathe in it too --- year-round. And it's beyond ridiculous to have this forced on us.

Glad you're adding your voice, Juli. And welcome to We Want Organic Food.

Please end fluoridization in the U.S. Let individuals decided weather or not to add floride to their water. Please do not make this choice for us.

That is amazing, Brad, that it was voted out. Also amazing that medical professionals wanted it back in (although I'm wondering whether "amazing" is the right word; possibly "not surprising" would better fit). One wonders what they get out of it, if anything --- but one has to wonder.

It's almost as if we all have to become chemists *and* sleuths in order to monitor what's going on and what's being put where.

Unfortunately, our health and quality of life depend on it. But, luckily, people are much more in communication with each other than in decades past, partially due to the Internet --- so it's easier for us to find out what's going on and to share information.

After many battles the public finally won and the City and Borough Assembly of Juneau Alaska voted 5-4 to stop adding fluoride to the municipal water system. Eager beaver medical professionals started an initiative to put the fluoride back in the water.

To my shock - the public can put on a municipal ballot which medications should be distributed through the municipal water system.

An even more shocking shocker, in green town USA, Juneau Alaska, home of the Clean Water protection agency Southeast Alaska Conservation Council they are silent about putting a known toxic substance in the municipal water system yet are fighting the local mining company which is actually cleaning up natures less than pristine waters. Go figure - it must be getting close to the fall silly season.
